Hey John,
I found you by searching for JohnK and Compunet. Don’t be alarmed, I’m not from HMRC, or the IRS as might be more appropriate now. I was a user of Compunet back in the Eighties and a heavy user of M.U.D.
We weren’t acquainted as such although we did have some dealings when I finally made Wizard (Feanor). I was a spotty 15 year old back then and I fondly remember that you were kind enough to reinstate my Legend status after I’d been unfairly killed following some skullduggery by a miscreant wizard.
Anyway the reason I attempted to track you down was that I’ve been blogging on retro computing for a couple of years now and recently found a lot of my old Compunet stuff, including the M.U.D. maps that you sent me. Seeing the names Richard Bartle and JohnK on the bottom of the maps prompted me to search for and read about you both.
